Duties: We are currently seeking four self-motivated and well-qualified researchers to contribute to the theoretical and applied tasks of the planning research group, with a focus on the following fields: Scheduling and Optimisation in Mining Scenarios; Autonomous Trajectory Planning in Mining Scenarios; Dynamic Modelling of Complex Planning Systems; Stochastic Optimisation for Complex Planning Systems
Minimum Requirements: You will have a PhD, or in the process of being awarded one, in engineering, computer science or a related discipline, be a team player with good communications skills and satisfy the following key requirements: expert knowledge in one of the fields mentioned above; desire to work on theoretical tasks related to real systems, including experimental validation using simulation; experience in software development, e.g. C++, Matlab or Python

Duties: Download, process, and analyze observations and climate model simulations.. Quality control of atmospheric, oceanic and biogeochemical variables. Compute climate and marine ecosystem metrics. Help to derive measures of climate variability and change that are useful to scientists and the broader community. Assist in the development of computer code/scripts to visualize climate data via the internet. Demonstrate the climate change web portal to potential users
Minimum Requirements: Masters in atmospheric science, oceanography, or similar field. Knowledge of meteorology, physical oceanography, marine biogeochemistry, Knowledge of and experience with scripting languages (especially Python), operating systems (Linux/mac OSX), visualization software (such as NCL), geophysical data formats (such as NetCDF)
Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of hydrology, statistical methods. Comfortable working with large datasets. Experience with web-page development (html, javascript, css). Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with scientists of diverse backgrounds, managers and stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and as part of a development team
